Tri-State Tar Heels
Girls AAU Basketball Club

The TriState Tarheel's Inc, founded in July 1992, is an AAU girls basketball club, we are members of the Middle Atlantic District of the Amateur Athletic Union. Our purpose is to provide opportunities for girls ages 10 thru 17 to train and compete in the sport of basketball at the highest possible level. We are based in the Phila/South Jersey area, practicing in Marlton N J.

The Tarheels are committed to helping players that are committed to becoming better basketball players. They achieve that goal through hard work and dedication to our game. Our purpose is not to provide recreation for players but train committed basketball players from the grammar school era al the way through High School.
The end result ,hopefully will be a College Scholarship.

We provide a healthy, positive, family oriented environment for all of our players offering encouragement to continue to play the game ,striving to be the best that they can be.

Our program is active 7 months during the year, practicing and competing during the months of March thru August.

We have had several of our Tarheel teams qualify for the AAU National Championships over the years.

As stated earlier, our goal for High School age players is to expose during the college recruiting season to as many college coaches as we can. This is accomplished by playing in what is referred to as “College Exposure” tourney’s. The purpose of course is to give the player as many opportunities as possible to receive an athletic scholarship.

We have been extremely successful in achieving that goal .We have close to 100 girls who have graduated from the Tarheels program that we have helped earn Athletic Scholarships . Virtually 90% of our graduating seniors go on to play in college Please view ours Successful Graduates Link for a listing of former Tarheels that are currently playing or have played college ball.

We are extremely proud of our Tarheels players, once you are a Tarheels you are always a Tarheels ,it’s gratifying to see some of our kids go on to coach in college and high school. As of the 2005 season we have. Alicia DiBonaventura head coach at Widener University, Heather McGinty former assistant at Rider University and Cheryl Kulesa ,head coach at Audubon High School.

In 2004 we had 12 teams totaling 140 players. Our players come from all over the Delaware Valley, New Jersey, Penna. and Delaware.

PLEASE … COME JOIN THE PREMIER AAU ORGANIZATION IN THE PHILA/ SOUTH JERSEY AREA.
